facilities were very good.
He also attended the Moscow World Cup as the FIG Technical Delegate. There was a
much better warm-up gym than the previous year. The overall competition was very well
organized. There were line deductions taken on one gymnast (NED). They were questioned
by the coach and could not be verified. The deductions of -0.2 were removed.
Jani Tanskanen
He had the opportunity to meet and speak with many athletes at the European
Championships regarding any suggestions they may have for the next Code of Points.
He attended the FIG Council and Executive Committee meetings in San Jose, California,
USA.
He created an open letter with athletes' perspectives that was published prior to the FIG
Code of Points Symposium.
Steve Butcher
He attended the Glasgow World Cup as the FIG Technical Delegate. There was a problem
with the ringing of the bell during the completion of a floor exercise, so one gymnast could
not be deducted for going overtime (potentially -0.1).
He is involved in preparations for the Pan American Games, to be held directly after the
Tokyo World Championships.
He will not run again for president of the PAGU MTC, after two cycles. There are several
very qualified candidates.
He also visited Trinidad and Tobago for their national championship, which included
Barbados. He is assisting several of the English speaking Caribbean countries with their
development.
He also assisted with the organization of the FIG Council and EC meet in San Jose,
California, USA.
Presently Butcher is proof reading the new FIG MAG educational software produced by
Douglas Hills (USA). The proof reading and editing is approximately 200 hours of work and
should be completed in the next month.
Julio Marcos
He was the FIG Technical Delegate for the Paris-Bercy World Cup. The competition
showed good work from the judges and excellent organization.
Adrian Stoica
He attended the Paris-Bercy and Glasgow World Cups.
He attended the FIG Council and Executive Committee meetings in San Jose, California,
USA.
He attended the FIG EC meeting where marketing was the main function. During the
meeting the IRCOS system use was revised for competitions and will only be used in cases
of inquiry. TC members will no longer approve scores from the apparatus juries.
There was a meeting of World Cup hosts after the FIG Code of Points Symposium. Several
improvement issues were discussed, as well as planning for the 2012 season.
He participated in the draw for the 2011 World Championships in Tokyo. There will be two
days of competition for men with and four subdivisions each day in Competition I, offering a
later event start time (better condition) for the gymnasts. He also visited the competition hall
and meeting rooms. The D jury meeting will be held in the MTC room.
Symposium wrap-up- The overall symposium allowed many federations the opportunity to
provide suggestions and proposals. Several of the proposals will be discussed by the MTC
at this meeting.
