Correspondence with the Federations:
A large amount of correspondence was received from Federations and Unions during this period.
From UEG: many different proposals regarding the CoP and the competition organization.
From PAGU: The main problem related to the minimum age of the gymnasts for their
competitions. Other continents had the same problem, for example the Arab Games will use a
combined team with juniors and seniors athletes - the number of juniors should however not
prevail over the number of seniors.
Nellie Kim received several correspondences from the Organizing Committee of the University
Games.
FIG Symposium:
The WTC President thanked everybody for the positive outcome of the Symposium, especially the
participating Federations as well as the WTC Members for their hard work. The WTC received
compliments for the results obtained.

World Cups:
With the experience of this year, the WTC have the feeling that the format of the World Cups
Series is not working the way it was planned. The WTC support the idea of inviting junior athletes
because it is a great opportunity for these gymnasts to accumulate experience before they reach
the senior category. They currently do not even have the possibility of acquiring experience at the
continental championships as seniors.
In general the WTC emphasized on the problem linked to a very heavy competition calendar,
which does not provide the gymnasts with sufficient periods of rest or preparation. Athletes cannot
stay in good shape all year round.
Also, changes of dates (in the middle of the season) in the World/Challenge Cups have a negative
impact, as the gymnasts train to be ready for certain periods in the year and Federations depend
on budgets.
Some rules in the World Cup Series prevent organizers from bidding for World Cups.
Proposal: Instead of inviting the gymnasts by name, to give a place to the best Federations at the
WC and the OG, so that the gymnasts may remain fit. The priority should be given to the
gymnasts with a "name" but if these are not available, Federations should then have the possibility
to replace them. The gymnasts' participation will thus be strengthened.
Proposal from the WTC and the athletes' representative: To allow 15 years old gymnasts to
compete in Challenger Cup (Category B).
European Individual Championships in Berlin:
All logistical aspects (i.e. in terms of accommodation, transportation, venues) were well organized,
the spectator numbers were very high, in the Finals in particular.
The government of the city of Berlin was involved in the organization and sponsoring of this event.
Participating federations: 32
Total number of gymnasts: 85
The competitions were televised, however the position of the cameras were not always correct.
The Scoring system was supplied by Longines. The use of IRCOS did not slow down the
competitions at all. Most of the time, the subdivisions finished earlier than planned.
