FÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DE GYMNASTIQUE
For World Age Group, NM, CL, TS, SD and VZ will stay for the competition.
SD would like to propose for the Olympics to add 8 more athletes per gender, having 8
countries with 2 athletes that will also compete for SYN. The qualification of these first 16
athletes would come from either the Team event or from the top 8 countries qualifying 2
athletes. This will ensure the countries to focus on more athletes, to have 16 different
countries represented in individual trampoline and add a synchronized trampoline event a
spectacular event that is good for television.
NM would like to see TUM at the Olympics with 8 or 12 athletes. This will attracts a lot of
athletes from countries with a long tradition in Gymnastics, but never show up in TRA.
6. Symposium CoP
HK is proposing to bring back the proposal of introducing a second round of qualification. The
FIG TRA-TC fully supports the basic principles of this proposal. The final must not be
restricted in all disciplines.
FIG TRA-TC also would like to implement an approved methodology for all the different
scoring system used.
TC proposed to go ahead with a new methodology of evaluating the scores from the judges by
using the median score per skill.
TC requests to ask the EC supports in order to help providing programs to achieve this project.
SD to propose for discussion a table of difficulty with the different proposals, to undervalued
the pike position and/or increasing value of twist after 1 twist.
HK will talk about the intention of the FIG TRA-TC to look at 2 execution scores
A proposal will be made at the symposium to simplify or revise the way of performing
execution judging.
TC agreed that the loss of height could be removed from the criteria.
The drawings should be revised in the COP, they should to reflect the type of skills performed.
A mention about biomechanical principles for some skills should be added.
Simplify the evaluation of the execution to use 2 phases:
- rotation or flying phase
- opening and landing phase
7. Norms
Proposal to add additional mat in the norms at the far end of each trampoline, it should be the
same for DMT and Tumbling. This must be added to the technical regulation in the safety
section and must be proposed to the Apparatus Commission, EC and Council.
FIG TRA-TC recommends changing the testing procedure including a test for durability and
resistance for springs and bed. Quality tests are planned to be done but this has to be agreed
with the manufacturers and the testing institute. This must be done in order to ensure that the
springs and bed are keeping their quality up to a certain limit equivalent to the use of a World
Championships and World Age Groups (approx. 100,000 jumps over 2 weeks).
In DMT tolerance we need to revise the angle of the mount, to come back with a proposal in
Kiev.
