INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF GYMNASTICS
The President congratulated the new Federations and wished them every success. Having rights
also implies responsibilities. One must start with a solid foundation. He gave the example of SEN,
who was constantly improving and achieving higher levels.
The Secretary General announced that there were no resignations or expulsions. In conformity
with articles 7.1 and 7.4 of the Statutes, the Federations listed below were suspended for
nonpayment of dues or bills, except for PRK suspended for disciplinary reasons. This item did not
require a vote.

10. AWARDING THE VENUE OF THE NEXT CONGRESS
Michel Léglise pointed out that voting would be done immediately after the presentations.
André Gueisbuhler explained the procedure and invited the applying Federations to make their
presentations. Each candidate will have 10 to 15 minutes. A draw had determined the order of
appearance: 1. SLO, 2. JPN, 3. MEX, 4. NOR.
The SLO President presented his candidature.
André pointed out that one day was missing in the program. SLO will later announce whether one
day will be added before or after the already established schedule.
The JPN President and Secretary General presented their candidature.
The MEX President presented the candidature of his Federation. Rates are below those stipulated
in the draft of the project. Official hotel: USD 170 for a single room, and USD 110 for a double, all
included. A more modest hotel, the Palm Beach Cancun, offers a single room at USD 110 and a
double at USD 95, all included.
The NOR President and Secretary General presented their candidature.
André Gueisbuhler asked whether, in accordance with our request, NOR had been able to find a
cheaper hotel after submitting their candidature.
The NOR General Secretary replied that the rate of a single room in the second hotel would be
NOK 300 less than in the official hotel, which is about EUR 25.
André Gueisbuhler thanked the 5 Federations contractually committed.
The 4 remaining
candidates meet the conditions and offer hotels at a good quality level. He displayed on the screen
a comparative chart showing the various lodging rates.
The Secretary General announced that further to the departure of the SWE President, Stefan
Bengtsson, Council member, was asking the assembly to grant him the right to vote for his
