ˇ Natalia Lojevsky (USA): Open the value: if we listen to our conversations with a focus on
many limits, progress may end; Confirm mixed difficulty criteria as it's a creative idea and
also confirms artistry and execution.
ˇ Heidi Brunder (UEG TC President): Deductions and then addition is very difficult for
execution: all plus in composition or all minus in composition.
ˇ Maria Pachta (GRE): Limit the value for Fouttee rotations and increase the value for DER.
ˇ Albena Chrysaphi (CYP): Virtuosity should be given without any technical faults in
execution.
ˇ Bente Bjanes (NOR): Focus more on artistry: add for artistry and penalize for execution.
ˇ Tamara Bompa (CAN): small throws in fundamental groups shouldn't be added for all
apparatus but rather only for clubs (cannot be viewed in ribbon).
Propositions suggested and decisions:
ˇ Min 1 dance step, with review of criteria.
ˇ Min 1 DER and keep criteria
ˇ Virtuosity of apparatus handling moved as an over all bonus for Execution with a fixed
criteria.
ˇ Mastery of apparatus handling in Difficulty (no limit) indicated in the form M1, M2, M3.
ˇ 10 points or more for difficulty value.
ˇ +0.2 pts for connection
ˇ Min 6 and Max. 9 difficulties (3 leaps + 3 rotations + 3 balances) or (min 2 max. 4)
ˇ Execution judges deduct technical faults and artistry faults
ˇ Multiple consists of different rotations + 0.20 for connection counted as 1 difficulty.
ˇ For Multiple and mixed difficulties, if the gymnast fails to execute one of the difficulties that
compose a multiple or mixed, the other difficulty is counted with a deduction of 0.20 for the
connection.
ˇ DER must be executed without any fault and a clear catch.
ˇ +0.1 for Mastery of apparatus handling for basic fundamental groups as we miss this now
in the compositions.
Presentation of Vice-President Koji Takizawa concerning difficulty in RG.
Presentation of Vice-President Dr. Michel Leglise: art and RG: how to obtain criteria for
evaluation of this art. The door must be opened for RG progress. The difficulty in the
judgment is from too many symbols and a more white or black criteria for difficulties. Ethics
and the health of gymnasts must be considered when finalizing the COP as low level
gymnasts imitate high level gymnasts. Education for coaches is highly recommended
through Academy.
Presentation of Hard Fink (FIG Academy Director) about the calculation of the total score in
comparison with other sports.
Prof. Bruno Grandi:
ˇ Thanked everyone for their participation and support, including All Vice-Presidents,
Academy members, and coaches with a special thanks to the TC President and all
TC members who have worked hard to present a first version of the COP.
ˇ The reason for the Symposium is so that everyone can share what they think. We
can't go back but must look into the future, taking into consideration all the best we
have.
ˇ COP must be simple, clear, and understandable to all when they read it
ˇ It was a mistake when we separated difficulty into D1 and D2 but we learn from
mistakes.
