ˇ Report of the working group with WTC
ˇ Necessary updates on rules and difficulty tables for all apparatus
The MTC previewed the work to be accomplished jointly with the WTC from the past joint meeting.
The MTC began discussion regarding Code of Points changes for each apparatus during the next
cycle. A working document was prepared and compiled for the MTC president.
8. Common items to be discuss with WTC
ˇ World Cups
ˇ Continuation of the preparation for the Code of Points 2013-2016
ˇ Vaults
ˇ Judges rules
ˇ Others
Some recommendations were made by both TC's regarding the World Cups. Both recommended
that eight gymnasts be permitted to qualify to the apparatus finals of the Challenger Cups,
immediately, based on the large number of prospective gymnasts on each apparatus participating
in the preliminary competitions. Competition in two groups (4 & 4) is also an option.
The number of judges, two D jury and five E jury, has been approved for the World Championships
and Olympic Games (with the use of reference judges). Both TC's recommend keeping six E jury
judges for the World Cup events. The use of five E jury judges also creates less judging
opportunities and experience, particularly at the Challenger Cup events where the pool of judges is
much larger.
Both TC's recommend: World Cup (A's) have only Category 1 or 2 judges work on the D panel.
Both TC's recommend: For World Cups (A's), if there are not enough Category 1 & 2 judges to fill
the D jury, the organizers must invite more qualified judges.
The WTC recommends that Category 4 judges not be used World Cup (A) events.
Nellie Kim, WTC president, made some edits and additions to the WTC/MTC Working Document
regarding Judges' Rules for the next cycle.
