Like at the last World Championships the hurry to get the medal ceremony on its way put
uneccessary pressure on the Superior Jury to deal with the above mentioned intervention. So I
myself had no time after signing the final results and medal placements to inform the gymnasts and
coaches personally. I apologized to the British Tumbling Head Coach and to the Head of
Delegation for this not very human treatment and of course explained why we had to reject the
inquiry.
Judging
Trampoline and Synchro
A verbal warning was given to a judge after the first round in Men's Trampoline during the
preliminary rounds. The Jury of appeal was informed. After discussion, the evaluation of the scores
done after conclusion of the Worlds is pending upon using the Fairbrother system. But all in all
judging could be seen as good, ranking was in the right order also with the expert scores.
Tumbling
The judges were not positioned according to the rules because of the size of the hall. Score tends
to be low because of the position of the judges. TC has to rediscuss the position of judges.
Discrepancies were observed in control scores from one judge. This judge was not following the
procedure and a verbal warning will be issued during WAGC. If the judge repeats this again during
World Age Groups, then he will receive a formal warning.
Double Mini-Trampoline
In DMT, an inquiry filed by ESP was rejected concerning a skill that was intended to be straight
and was called pike. Directions had been given to the judges prior to the competition especially
regarding similar cases.
Judging System
Again we had a tie for medal places, this time for the Gold and Silver in mens Trampoline and in
addition the placed 5 to 7 in this Final. . The analysis showed that with the time of flight, which was
tested again during the whole competition, all ties could have been avoided. The testing results of
the qualification rounds were given to all federations after conclusion of the Trampoline Individual
events. Even the analysis of each skill was listed.
Public
As mentioned before, even during qualification rounds the hall was almost full and really packed
with audience during finals.
Conclusion
The France Gymnastics Federation, and the Organising Committee, including all the
wonderful volunteers have to be congratulated for their efforts which made these 27
th
Trampoline Word Championships a great success.
