FÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DE GYMNASTIQUE
ˇ A decision to cancel categories must not be taken in the middle of the cycle: it is not fair
for the gymnasts and not respectful to the Member Federations
ˇ
The TC is working with all Member Federations to improve the level of the Gymnasts by
including original and creative transitions and new difficulty elements (Twists and tilt
rotations) already done by some gymnasts as was requested by FIG President Professeur
Bruno Grandi (see FIG Bulletin, September 2008).
ˇ
INDIVIDUALS have been already cancelled this cycle for the UNIVERSIADE 2011
certain Member Federations not happy with this.
ˇ
The performance of the INDIVIDUAL is clearly higher compared with the level of the
groups in AEROBIC Dance and Step.
ˇ
Aerobic Step is an activity and not a real sport: it cannot replace Individual.
ˇ
Asian and European federations will PROBABLY not send AEROBIC Dance and Step
TEAMS for financial reasons: it will not be a good image for FIG to have a few teams only
for this first edition;
The TC need to know what is happening with these 2 new activities "AEROBIC DANCE &
AEROBIC STEP" during Universiade.
The cancellation of Individuals will stop the progression and the development of
the discipline and will reduce the integration of new countries.
For all these reasons, the TC decision is to maintain the status quo and the competition
programme to be as the FIG Technical Regulations state.
Due to the fact that the IWGA has increased the quota, the TC would like to add 6 teams of
Aerobic Dance.
The fact to include only Aerobic Dance should allow to see how the federations are involved
in this new programme.
In case of the 1
st
Decision will not be
accepted,
the 2
nd
decision should be:
- to reduce the INDIVIDUAL from 8 to 6 in
qualifications and 4 in Finals
- to keep 8 MP, TR & GR in qualification and
6 in Finals
- to include 6 Aerobic Dance and 4 in Finals
The 3
rd
and last TC Decision will be to apply
the FIG TR 2011: 8 IM, IW, MP, TR & GR in
qualifications, 6 in Finals
After the Universiade, the TC will make an
analysis and will provide conclusive evidence
and suggestions for the Aerobic Gymnastics
Programme for the next cycle.

Code of points 2013-2016
The FIG EC has clearly recommended that all TC (MAG, WAG, RG, TRA, AER, ACR)
must prepare next codes of point in order to deliver all scores in 30 seconds.
All sectors have been reviewed to be more objective, easier and faster.
The TC and Nellie Kim, the President of WAG, worked together on the Artistic part one full
day.
The new main directions will be presented at the next Symposium.
