- 11-16 no optional elements.
- Reduce gap between 11-16 and 12-19 to big, need third age group and level.
Group 3
- Reduce Size penalties in 11-16, current rules do not allow partnerships to have future.
- Consider three age groups instead of only two.
Conclusions:
The ACRO TC presented the following proposals to the delegates for their consideration and
discussion:
To reduce the length of 11-16 exercises;
To determine the final exercise for 11-16 disciplines on a rotating basis;
To consider adding a third age group as long term solution to bridge the gap in terms of difficulty
and encourage more gymnasts to work towards senior level;
To change the format of the Tables of Difficulty to consolidate elements and reduce number of
pages.
Delegates expressed general agreement with the proposals. TRC noted that the delegates
had expressed many of the same concerns that the TC had previously identified, and that
the proposed solutions had also been suggested by the groups. It is clear that a common
opinion exists and that everyone is thinking in the same direction. Delegates were assured
that their opinions would be given careful consideration by the TC during deliberations for
the 2013 cycle.
TRC expressed appreciation to her TC colleagues who had worked to prepare the
Symposium. Appreciation was also expressed to the coaches and experts for their
collaboration. Such collaboration is very important to the future of Acrobatic Gymnastics.
