FÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DE GYMNASTIQUE
The chart here below shows the situation of the number of participants at the 2010 World
Championships in Rodez (FRA) in each category.

The analysis of the continental championships, as mentioned at the beginning of this report
(§3 & §4) shows similar results.
ˇ Individuals have the highest level of performance of all categories and generates
new elements ;
ˇ The World Games conclude the 2009 2012 cycle, like the OG for the Olympic
disciplines;
ˇ The TC is working with affiliated federations to improve the gymnasts' level of
performances, including original and attractive transition and new difficulty (twist,
side salto) already performed by some gymnasts, as requested by Prof. Bruno
Grandi (see Bulletin FIG 2008).
ˇ The Individuals' level of performance is not comparable to the new activities Aerobic
Dance and Aerobic Step that have been created for the Universiades for a new
public, most important with different technical requirements.
For all these reasons, the TC expressed to maintain the competition programme as
mentioned in the Technical Regulations.
Two meeting with Ron Froehlich, IWGA President, Slava Corn, FIG vice President in
charge of Aerobic, André Gueisbuhler, Secretary General and Mireille Ganzin were
successful to re-establish Individuals in the World Games programme. Despite this
decision, the IWGA mentioned that Individuals will be removed from the programme of the
World Games 2017.
The programme in 2013 will feature :
ˇ 8 individuals men and 8 individuals women
ˇ 6 mixed pairs, 6 trios, 6 groups
ˇ 6 teams Aerobic Dance
ˇ 6 teams Aerobic Step
After the Universiades, the TC will review all routines and will make suggestions for the next
cycle.
