Training and Warm-Up Halls; When preparing the training schedule for the teams and mixed
groups, it became apparent that 3 training halls were hardly sufficient to guarantee the adequate
running of the training sessions, with respect to the requirements of the technical regulations.
It was very difficult to fulfil the present FIG TR requirements regarding the groups' composition.
In the future, it will be necessary to increase the number of training halls, or to modify the FIG TR
in order to allow training and competitions' groups to be composed of team and individual
gymnast/s, as it was the case at the European Championships'10.
The procedure for the preparation of the training schedule should be clearly defined in the TR:
ˇ The duration of the general warm up before trainings in the Training and Warm up halls
(e.g. the duration of the general warm up should be approximately 25 - 30 minutes)
ˇ The training time on the apparatus (approximately 20 25 minutes).
ˇ The competition's time and Draw should NOT necessarily be followed in the
composition of the training groups. The OC should try to create the best schedules for
trainings.
ˇ The reserve gymnast should be allowed to participate in the Podium Training session.
Podium Training: The schedule was exactly the same as for C-I. The time for training was too
long. Therefore the WTC proposed to decrease the time for Podium training. Approximately half of
the competition's time should be assigned
.
C-IV Format: It will be necessary to review the FIG TR regarding Draw and competition's order.
Sometime the last gymnast in the 2
nd
team (last in the group) starts 1
st
on the next apparatus.
There probably should not be a team's rotations within one group.
C-III Format: It would be great to run the MAG and WAG apparatus at the same time (and
alternate the gymnasts while the judges calculate the scores)
Rules for Coaches: During the competitions it was necessary to remove the additional coaches
from
the Podium area.
Apparatus: The apparatus supplied by Janssen-Fritsen fully met the specifications and were safely
installed and well maintained throughout the competition.
While the new padding on the BB's "legs"
improved the look of the apparatus and provided better protection against injuries, nevertheless, it
was necessary to modify this padding during "Podium training" due to shortage of time, as several
gymnasts had to grab the Beam underneath to perform some of their elements.
The WTC would like to express their gratitude to the technical team for their constant availability
and help.
The presence of the Apparatus Commissioner, Mr. Ludwig Schweizer, was very important and the
WTC would like to thank him for his cooperation and availability to help resolve problems with the
apparatus.
In the future, it will be very helpful if at least one member of the FIG Apparatus Commission arrives
at the competition hall 1-2 days before Podium training (and not on the day of Podium Training) to
help resolve problems with the apparatus in the Training halls and on the Podium. Details are to be
found in the report addressed to the President of the Apparatus Commission.
