Acknowledgements
The FIG Academy Program is grateful to the many federations who have allowed their experts to
teach at academies, courses and camps and to those who have helped develop the curriculum and
content. This contribution is vital to the success of the Academy Program and is very much
appreciated by the federations and coaches who participate at these events.
We thank also the 47 host federations and
the 112 participating federations who have
shown interest in the coach education
opportunities provided by the FIG and for
supporting those initiatives.
Thank you to Olivia Bille Peńa who serves
as Manager of Coach Education Programs
within the FIG Office and deals with the administrative and financial aspects of each academy and
course. She is advised and supported within the FIG office when necessary by Nicolas Buompane,
the Deputy Secretary General who continues to show a keen interest in FIG's coach education
initiatives.
The greatest thanks must go to the Executive Committee and especially to President Prof. Bruno
Grandi for his continued support and very active interest in all aspects of the FIG Academy
Program, the Age Group Program, and the Continental Coach Development Projects. The degree
of moral, administrative and financial
support is astounding. Not counting the
development and salary costs of the
Academy Program, each participant at an
academy is subsidized by the FIG an
average of $1000US each time. The
program and the support is unique in the
world of amateur sport and is something of
which all FIG members should be very
proud.
