2. Aerobic Gymnastics Academies: 9 academies
During this period, 9 academies have been asked to focus on developing the discipline in 3
continents: 2 in Asia, 2 in South America and 3 in Africa.
The Africa project assisted by the work done by the Academies should provide, for the next
cycle, new participating gymnasts from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Senegal, Congo,
Namibia, Cape Verde and Zimbabwe.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the President, professor Bruno Grandi for giving us
the opportunity to organize 14 Academies during this cycle.
I wish also to thank the Director of the Academy, Hardy Fink and all Aerobic FIG experts (John
Atkinson, Olga Kyselovicova, Valérie Grandjean, Sergio Garcia, Ignacio Marron, Trudy Nurse,
Christophe Devillaine) for conducting these academies and for their full support in the
development of Aerobic Gymnastics all over the world.

3. International Judges courses:
During the cycle, 23 International judges courses were organized in four continents:
- 2 in Africa: ALG, RSA
- 3 in American continent: COL, USA, VEN
- 8 in Asia: CHN, HGK, IRI, JPN, KOR (2), THA, VIE
- 10 in Europe: AUT, CZE, ESP, FIN, HUN, ITA, POR, ROU, RUS, UKR
Only one course has been held in 2011 in China, no course in 2012, due to the fact that the
Intercontinental Judges Course will be organized in December 2012.
453 judges obtained their FIG brevet:

The growing number of judges as well as the number of coaches participating in the
Academies contributes to the development of Aerobic Gymnastics, thereby increasing the
number of federations.
In 2012, more than 75 nations, including new member federations that took part in Academies,
practise Aerobic Gymnastics toward 100 member federations required by the FIG President,
Professor Bruno Grandi in order to be qualified to join the Olympic disciplines.
