FÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DE GYMNASTIQUE
Second Olympic Qualification
25 Individuals, 8 Groups
Additional individuals and Group were added at the last moment compared to the
numbers in the qualification regulations
This was the first time for a Second Olympic Qualification event; there was a close
competition for the remaining Olympic berths (5 for Individual and 4 for Group). There
were more deserving athletes/Groups than possible places.
Neutral Judges were used
This event could not be considered an actual « Test » Event for the Olympic Games
because it was held in an alternate venue, which is a disadvantage for the gymnasts.
Suggestions were made by the TC for aspects of the organization, set-up, and training for
the Olympic Games
