Acrobatic Technical Committee "Report"

This report summarizes the activity of the Acrobatic Gymnastic Technical Committee since October
of 2010.
Achievements:
The Acrobatic Gymnastic Technical Committee has:
Conducted meetings according to the calendar.
Maintained frequent communication with countries to discuss the development of Acrobatic
Gymnastics.
Continued to conduct activities based on the Acrobatic Development Project.
Hosted a Technical Symposium, together with the FIG President Professor Bruno Grandi,
Vice President Dr. Michel Leglise and Secretary General André Gueisbuhler, to discuss the
Code of Points and TOD 2013.
Drafted the 2013 Code of Points based on the principles discussed during the Symposium.
Evaluated the World Age Group Program, together with experts from around the world, and
proposed changes accordingly.
At the invitation of the President, conducted the last World Cup event of the 2011 series in
Professor Grandi's hometown of Forli, Italy.
Worked in close cooperation with the FIG and with USA Gymnastics to conduct the largest
World Age Group Competition and World Championships in the history of Acrobatic
Gymnastics in Florida, April 2012.
Focus:
The focus of the Acrobatic Gymnastics Technical Committee has remained on development.
Eighteen countries have participated in activities organized with funding from the ACRO
Development Project. It is expected that another two activities will take place before the end of
2012, with the next activity scheduled to take place in Mozambique for the African Continent this
October. Many countries, especially within PAGU, have started new competitive programs, with
about 55 countries now participating in acrobatic gymnastics on a national level.
Symposium:
The Acrobatic Gymnastics Community appreciated the opportunity to participate in the first
technical symposium to take place since the merger with the FIG. Experts from around the world
spent three days in lively discussion about many subjects, especially the Code of Points for 2013,
the values of elements in the Tables of Difficulty, and the World Age Group Program. The
federations present stressed the importance of a stable code without big changes for the next
