FÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DE GYMNASTIQUE
For this first edition, 19 nations were present from 4 continents: BRA, CHN, ESP, FIN,
FRA, HUN, INA, IRI, ITA, JPN, KOR, MEX, MGL, ROU, RUS, RSA, SVK, UKR, VIE.
The competition programme was adapted to the student competitors : Mixed Pairs,
Trios and Groups. Two 2 new competitive Aerobic activities have been created for this
event: AERO Dance and AERO Step.
A new scoring system has been created by CHINA TIMING for this competition in order to
improve the speed of judging and the control of the competition.
This new computer programme was very efficient and helpful, hoping that it will be used
next cycle.
Excellent organization, fabulous experience for all participants who were very proud to be
a part of FISU members and appreciated this wonderful competition.
Many thanks to the Chinese Gymnastics Association for introducing Aerobic Gymnastics
as an optional sport in the Universiade and for their support and their cooperation.
The next event should be in 2015 in Korea.
8. World Championships 2012 and World Age Group Competitions 2012, Sofia (BUL)
These two events have been held in the new and wonderful
Armeec
Arena in Sofia from

June 2012.
42 nations with 710 gymnasts from all continents were present, including some new
member federations (COL, PER, EST) : 8 nations from PAGU,
22 nations from UEG, 9
nations from AGU, 2 nations from OCE and 1 nation from UAG.
This World championships also served as qualifyers for next World Games 2013 for all
categories but also for the first time AERO Dance and AERO Step.
All facilities, warm up area, training hall and the competition area fulfilled all needs and
more for these two competitions.
All competitions ran on time.
A continental meeting has been organized to discuss about the specific development of the
discipline in each continent and to find some solutions to the problems.
These World Age Groups Competitions have shown that the discipline is progressing, as
witnessed by better Execution and interesting Artistic routines.
The World Championships will be memorable with a high level of the performance in all
categories and in all sectors (Artistic, Execution and Difficulty), showing that all coaches
from all the federations have committed themselves to rendering this discipline more and
more spectacular.
On behalf of the Aerobic community, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the OC,
the Aerobic Union Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation and the City of Sofia for
their outstanding organization.
9. Symposium on the COP
25 participants: ALG, FIN, FRA, GBR, GER, RUS, HUN, SVK, UKR
Many subjects have been discussed and have been helpful to prepare the next COP:
- Artistic part with an excellent presentation by Lyn Heward (Cirque du Soleil)
- Execution part
- Minimum requirements of Difficulty elements
