It was a special opportunity to be in the Olympic City, Lausanne and the FIG had for this special
occasion prepared an historical review of the World Gymnaestrada that was presented as a special
exhibition at the IOC museum. This exhibition will now be available for FIG member Federations
who wants to use it. We have until now two requests and we hope to receive more.
The know-how about organising a World Gymnaestrada has now been transferred to the next LOC
Helsinki, FIN where the World Gymnaestrada 2015 will be organised.
National and Continental Gymnastics Festivals
Around the world many Gymnastics festival are being organised and this gives thousands of
gymnasts the possibility to be part of the Gymnastics for All family.
It is very important that festivals are being organised on both the national and continental level so
there is a development pathway and Member Federations can prepare well for involvement in a
World Gymnaestrada or World Gym for Life Challenge as well as providing their members with
many travel and participation opportunities. We hope that more Federations will take the
opportunity to spread information about their National events via the FIG web site.

Course Manual, FIG Foundation of Gymnastics course, Spanish version
Music CD to use at GfA courses
Conclusion
Two very intense and interesting years are behind us. We are happy with the number of
participants at the World Gymnaestrada 2011 but we hope that we will have more Member
Federations finding the possibility to participate at the World Gym for Life Challenge in 2013 and
the World Gymnaestrada 2015.
I would like to thank all the Member Federations we have worked together with throughout this
period. The cooperation between us is vital and necessary for the ongoing growth and
development of Gymnastics for All. I would also like to thank President Bruno Grandi, Secretary
General André Gueisbuhler, Deputy Secretary General Nicolas Buompane and the EC for their
support. A special thank you goes to Alexandre Cola our Sport Manager and all the other staff
members at the FIG office. Finally I sincerely thank all the Committee members. They have with
their motivation, effort and never ending enthusiasm made our work worthwhile and brought
Gymnastics for All forward.
