The rules and regulations on how to organise an FIG Foundation of Gymnastics course is to be
found on the FIG Intranet site which is available for all Member Federations. The Hosting
Guidelines includes the information needed and the application form.
We hope to have many more applications from our Member Federations to organise FIG
Foundation courses
Join the Gymnaestrada courses
To assist in the preparation of participation at the World Gymnaestrada the GfA committee
organise Join the Gymnaestrada courses. To assist Member Federations in their preparation we
plan to organise three (3) courses before the next World Gymnaestrada 2015 in Helsinki, FIN.
Colloquium
Every year the GfA committee invites to a colloquium with a special theme. All Member
Federations are invited to participate. In December 2010 the colloquium was organised in Lisbon,
POR. The theme was "Contest and Competitions within Gymnastics for All". We had 37
participants from 27 Member Federations and all continents were represented. We had very
interesting presentations from 7 Federations and the participants also got the possibility to discuss
our proposal of the Regulation for World Gym for Life Challenge. Interesting was also the
presentation made by Lukas Kolb on Skype via Internet. He described the evaluation system we
used in Dornbirn 2009.
The colloquium was very well organised by the Portuguese Federation and even if we had big
problems with the weather (4 participants never arrived) it was a successful event.
In November 2011 the yearly Colloquium was organised in Cape Town RSA. Thew theme was
"The World Gymnaestrada in the future and World Gym for Life Challenge 2013". We had 30
participants from 23 Member Federations and all continents were represented. Important
discussions were held on how we can develop the World Gymnaestrada and as the LOC Helsinki,
FIN was present they took notice of all proposals. The LOC World Gym for Life Challenge, Cape
Town RSA informed about the upcoming event and all venues where visited by the participants.
The colloquium was very well organised by the South African Gymnastics Federation and we hope
that the result of the discussions will bring the development of both our International Gymnastics
for All event forward.

World Gymnaestrada 2011
The 14
th
World Gymnaestrada was organised in Lausanne, SUI July 10-16, 2011. After five years
of preparation the LOC could welcome 19 093 participants from 55 FIG Member Federations and
all Continental Unions.
The organisation of such a big event has high demands on logistics, security, communication and
infrastructure. We are very grateful for all the hard work done by the LOC Lausanne, before, during
and after the event and it was a very well organised World Gymnaestrada.
