The competition took place in a wonderful atmosphere. The level of performances was very good,
proving that the quality of Pan American gymnastics is into a continuous improvement year by year.
Judges work
The same mention as for gymnasts the judge's knowledge and quality are in a continuous
improvement within the Pan American Union. They demonstrated fair play, respect, and
professionalism in all phases of the competition.
I take this opportunity to congratulate the Organizing Committee for the excellent job done with the
organization of the Gymnastics Competition during the Games Prof. Zobeira Hernandez, UPAG
President, Mr. Gustavo Salazar, President Mexican Gymnastics Federation, Naomi Valenzo and
Steve Butcher, PAGU Technical Presidents ART.

43 gymnasts from 12 Arab National Federation took part to the competition:
- 8 teams: EGY, QAT, ALG, TUN, IRQ, KSA, YEM and KUW (in ranking order after CI & CIV)
- 8 individual gymnasts (2 per NF) from: JOR, MAR, LBA, LIB (in CI)
In the All- around competition took part 14 gymnasts from 9 NF EGY 2, ALG 2, JOR 2, QAT 2,
TUN 2, MAR 1, KSA 1, IRQ 1, and LBA 1.
From the 12 NF in competition, 8 have had gymnasts participating in CIII: TUN, JOR, YEM, QAT,
EGY, ALG, MAR, IRQ.

Judges groups were constituted from participating countries judges, and there were also invited
neutral judges. I highly appreciate the financial and organizational efforts of both the Organizing
Committee and Qatar Gymnastics Federation to invite a sufficient number of neutral judges from:
ITA, BEL, SLO, BLR, ROU, GER, GRE 2, JPN 2, LAT, AUS 2, KOR, MAS, SIN, VIE, IND, FRA 2,
LUX and HUN, who greatly contributed to the smooth running of the competition.
The organization itself for such a big competition was done with professionalism.
It is mandatory to mention the total implication of Qatar Gymnastics Federation, President Mr. Ali
Al-Hitmi and his team. I want to also congratulate, and to thank the competition management team
led by Mrs. Jacqueline Quirin-Herbrand.
